Dov Elman, DDS, MMSC
Dr. Elman combines a strong academic background, advanced specialty training, and a compassionate approach to patient care. A Baltimore native, he values both the clinical and personal sides of dentistry, including the relationships he builds with patients and colleagues.
Education & Endodontic Training
Dr. Elman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During dental school, he was selected for the prestigious Diamond Scholar Program, which allowed him to participate in the Advanced Education in Graduate Dentistry clinic during his final year. His academic and clinical accomplishments earned him several honors, including the Dean's Award for Community Service and the Irving I. Abramson Award, presented to a graduating student demonstrating outstanding skill in endodontic diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Elman continued his advanced specialty training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he earned a Specialty Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Medical Sciences degree. During his residency, he completed an externship at Boston Children's Hospital, gaining specialized experience in pediatric endodontics with a particular focus on regenerative endodontic procedures.

Personal Life
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Elman enjoys spending time with his wife, Nina, his high school sweetheart, and their four children. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoys playing ice hockey and pickleball, as well as snowboarding.
Fazel Fakhari, DDS, MS, PhD
Dr. Fakhari brings a unique combination of scientific expertise, advanced endodontic training, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. His interest in healthcare and desire to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives led him from a background in scientific research to a career in dentistry and endodontics.
Education & Endodontic Training
Dr. Fakhari earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with honors from Shiraz University in Iran. Following his undergraduate studies, he spent nearly two years conducting research in Singapore, an experience that also gave him the opportunity to explore several countries throughout East Asia. He subsequently continued his academic career at Johns Hopkins University, where he earned his Master's and Ph.D. in Chemistry.
Dr. Fakhari then pursued his passion for patient care and oral health, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He subsequently completed advanced specialty training in Endodontics at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he received extensive training in complex surgical and non-surgical endodontic procedures.
During his dental education, Dr. Fakhari received several honors, including the International Student Clinician Research Award and the Dean's Research Award. His research interests also led him to co-author a book chapter on antibacterial dental adhesives and composites.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Fakhari teaches and mentors dental students and postgraduate endodontic residents at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. His passion for teaching is deeply influenced by his father, who was a teacher and instilled in him from an early age the value of sharing knowledge and helping others learn. Dr. Fakhari finds teaching particularly rewarding and believes that advancing knowledge and sharing expertise are essential to the continued growth of the profession and to providing exceptional patient care.
Personal Life
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Fakhari enjoys spending time with his wife, Mahsa, and their three children. An avid soccer enthusiast, he is always happy to play, watch, or talk about the beautiful game.
Yaakov Barak, DDS, MS
Dr. Barak brings a strong academic foundation, comprehensive dental training, and a compassionate approach to endodontic care. Known for his calm and reassuring demeanor, he is dedicated to providing personalized treatment that combines advanced techniques, modern technology, and a commitment to patient comfort.

Dr. Barak graduated summa cum laude from Touro College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, followed by a General Practice Residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital.
After completing his general dentistry training, Dr. Barak practiced family dentistry in New York before pursuing his passion for endodontics. He subsequently completed a three-year specialty residency in Endodontics at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he served as chief resident while earning his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. His broad clinical background and advanced specialty training contribute to his comprehensive approach to endodontic diagnosis and treatment.

Richard Fein, DMD
Dr. Fein brings a strong academic foundation, specialized endodontic training, and a genuine passion for helping patients achieve lasting oral health. Inspired in part by his father, who was also a dentist, he developed an appreciation for the dental profession and the opportunity it provides to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives.

Dr. Fein completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he continued his academic journey at the School of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He subsequently completed his advanced specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, developing the clinical knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and treat complex endodontic conditions.

Dr. Fein finds particular satisfaction in helping patients find relief from dental pain and restoring their comfort and oral health. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Fein has contributed to dental education and professional leadership throughout his career. He previously served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and as President of the Maryland Association of Endodontists. He has also served as Treasurer of the Howard County Dental Association for many years, a position he continues to hold, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the profession.
Dr. Fein has also been recognized by Baltimore Magazine as one of the area's top endodontists, reflecting his dedication to providing high-quality specialty care.
Personal Life
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Fein enjoys spending time with family and friends and is especially delighted to have welcomed his first grandchild this year. An avid golfer, he enjoys spending time in Florida, collecting wine, and hosting tasting dinners with friends. His other interests include reading, live music, exercise, and travel.
Ranya Eshera, DDS
Dr. Eshera combines a strong academic foundation, advanced endodontic training, and a compassionate approach to patient care. A native of Columbia, Maryland, she is passionate about helping patients find relief from dental pain while providing a comfortable, personalized treatment experience.

Dr. Eshera graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. In recognition of her academic achievements, she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the national dental honor society.
She continued her education through an advanced general dentistry residency at the Department of Veterans Affairs in San Antonio, Texas. After practicing general dentistry, Dr. Eshera pursued her passion for endodontics and completed her advanced specialty training at the Dental College of Georgia, where she earned her Specialty Certificate in Endodontics.

She enjoys challenging herself with advanced Pilates and is especially known for her elaborate homemade ice cream cakes. She also enjoys educational podcasts and is always happy to exchange recommendations.
Zuwu Zhou, DDS, MS
Dr. Zhou combines advanced endodontic training, a meticulous approach to treatment, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
