Not necessarily. Tooth pain can have many causes, and every emergency visit begins with a careful evaluation. While many dental emergencies are caused by inflammation or infection inside the tooth and may require root canal treatment, some pain may come from other sources such as the jaw joint, chewing muscles, nerves, or sinuses.
Our doctors take time to test the tooth and confirm the diagnosis before recommending treatment. If you need a root canal, we will explain why and discuss your options. If we are not confident the tooth is the source of the pain, we may recommend monitoring or further evaluation before proceeding.
